“Yoga does not transform the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.”
– B.K.S. Iyengar
Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga in which the positions (asanas) lead from one to another through joining movement and breath. The breath gives rhythm to the exercise and starts the flow of energy. In this way we create a dynamic flow through which the body warms up quickly.
The beauty of Vinyasa lies in the different combinations of the dynamic flow, and so every class is different. If you love exercise, relaxed movement and unpredictability, then Vinyasa flow is just right for you.
Yin yoga is a subtle style in which we enter into positions slowly and with the utmost attention, staying in each position for longer periods of time. In this way we increase flexibility and help relax the muscle fasciae and connective tissue.
Yin yoga is usually focused on the pelvis, hips, lower back and the inner thighs simultaneously stretching, strengthening and relaxing them through activating deep connective tissue, which is the point of this style.
If you want to relax through exercise and a more meditative approach to your body, this style is right for you.
In this style of yoga the asanas are done slowly, one after the other, with longer periods in each one. The goal is to increase flexibility, strengthen the muscles and increase strength whilst removing physical and psychical tensions. This style of yoga can be adapted to any level, meaning it can be practices by both younger and older practitioners, even if their mobility is impaired – doing the movements in accordance with their own limitations.
This style often incorporates pranayamas (special breathing exercises) which help to energize the body and bring it into balance.
Yoga and meditation help us to quiet down our thoughts, to be present in the now, to be gentler, quieter and to really feel our needs. Etherical oils, with their effects on both the psychical and emotional levels, provide an ideal support for relaxation and calming of the mind. When we enrich meditation and yoga with the benefits of etherical oils surpassing an uncalm mind becomes easier, quicker and more effective. Essential yoga at HomePlace is presented as a drop in class where we introduce ourselves to oils and their properties and the ways we can use them in our yoga practices.
We use DoTERRA etheric oils, because we choose essential oils that have been extracted in the most natural way from organic grown plants from plantations across the world, precisely at the moment when they reach best quality.
